Before you curse me out, hear this.

The Kardashian machine is back and better than ever. Blac Chyna threw a wrench in their gears with the birth of her beautiful baby girl Dream Kardashian. Am I the only one who grabbed a bag of popcorn and waited patiently for Kris to make a power move? These ladies are reality stars on and off camera.

I can’t be the only one who stared wide eyed when we found out there were not one, not two, but three babies on the way in the Kardashian family. Who doesn’t love celebrity babies? Everyone from TMZ, major news networks and every blogger on earth covered the pregnancies (and a secret pregnancy that still got a ton of media coverage) of Kim, Khloe and Kylie.

So what does any of this have to do with Kim running for president?

At first I thought Kanye was being positioned to run for president with his sudden interest in Donald Trump and trying to “Make America Great Again”. It felt weird to watch him parade around t.v sounding as neurotic as our current president. Then it made sense, he had an album about to drop so this was a press run to sell albums. It was dope how he admitted he had bipolar disorder, I don’t think this news came out of the goodness of his heart though.

Then Kim Kardashian did something she has never done before. She put on clothes, went to the White House and fought for the release of Alice Marie Johnson, a black 63 year old grandmother who has been caged in a federal prison for 22 years for a non-violent drug offense.

Kim Kardashian-West is one of the world’s leading influencers. In terms of influence, Kimmy is up there with Beyoncé. Before you blast me, I’m not comparing talent, but rather both women’s ability to use who they are to impact change in the world around them. Donald Trump doesn’t seem to like black people much but he signed a pardon simply because Kim Kardashian asked him to. Kim is in an unprecedented space.

Then, Kim announced she is going to help another black person get out of jail. How did someone who rose to meteoric fame from a sex tape and dating black men creep into the political space? Donald Trump proved there is space for reality tv stars in the White House and his own wife shares a very similar history to Kim K so it isn’t shocking to think that Kim can run for president.

Do I think that Kim K. is helping black people out of the kindness of her heart? Not always. These women know how to make money , gain access and kick open doors that everyone has locked them out of. Even when they steal black culture and commit offenses that baffles black women everywhere, it is still hard not to like them because we see ourselves in them somehow. Maybe it’s the adorable black children we can’t get enough of or maybe it’s the female struggle we can relate to. Kim Kardashian has made millions from black female intersectionality and I predict this will spill over into politics very soon.

During the next election, imagine if it was Kim Kardashian vs Donald Trump. Who would you vote for? Not voting is how we got Trump. Voting for an independent party is how we got Trump. Is it crazy to think that Kim can steal voters who aren’t satisfied with Trump’s leadership while garnering votes from millennials, gays, blacks, Hispanics, and women? Kim K., if she does this right, can leverage her brand to have the biggest voter turnout ever.

Regardless of what you think about her, Kim Kardashian is in a position to become the first female president. If Donald Trump has taught us anything, it is that you don’t need experience for the job. Is it right? No. I am, however, for anyone supporting issues that matter to me and Kim has proven she can do what we hoped Obama did more of. She is able to do what Obama couldn’t in terms of race politics and I am here for it.  The next election may be between those who want to “Make America Great again” and the millennials who would be the biggest voting block and who would vote Kim into office because they can relate to her brand. It’s culture that informs and inspires strategy, which drives action. Her actions amplify and push the culture forward in a way that a lot of people want to go. We can depend on the fact that Trump is awful and people will vote accordingly but that didn’t work for Democrats last time. So, can Kimmy be the next Democratic tump card and morph the archaic way we think about politics? I can’t be the only one who would love to see a political debate between these two.

What do you think?
